Mariah Carey Hairstyles

Mariah Carey was born on March 27, 1970. She is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, and actress. With her recording debut in 1990 under the guidance of Columbia Records executive Tommy Mottola, she became the first recording artiste to have five singles top the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. After she got married to Mottola in 1993, a series of records were produced which moved on to become Columbia’s highest-selling hits. Carey became the most successful artist of the 1990s in the United States, according to Billboard magazine.

After her divorce with Mottola in 1997, Carey introduced elements of hip-hop into her album work. She was named the best-selling female pop artist of the millennium at the 2000 World Music Awards. She has recorded the maximum number-one singles for a solo artist in the US. According to the Recording Industry Association of America, Carey is the third best-selling female recording artiste in the US.

With her commercial accomplishments, Carey has earned five Grammy Awards. She is well-known for her vocal range, power and style, and use of the whistle register. During her early years, Carey met Columbia Records executive Tommy Mottola at a party, where Starr gave him Carey’s demo tape. Mottola traced her and signed her to a recording contract.

Carey co-wrote the tracks on her 1990 debut album Mariah Carey. Backed by a substantial promotional budget, the album reached number one on the US Billboard 200 chart. In fact, the album yielded four number-one singles that made Carey a star in the US. Music critics rated the album highly as Carey won the Grammy for Best New Artiste and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for the debut single ‘Vision of Love.’

With her second album, the title track ‘Emotion’ made Carey the only recording artiste to have their first five singles reach number one on the US Hot 100 chart. She had been lobbying to produce her own songs, and beginning with Emotions, she co-produced most of her material.

After her achievement of the Billboard’s Artist of the Decade Award and the World Music Award for Best-Selling Female Artist of the Millennium, Carey parted from Columbia and signed a contract with EMI’s Virgin Records worth a reported US$80 million. Carey is always in the limelight on account of her sex appeal. Mariah Carey Hairstyles are one of the singer’s best assets that add to her style and sexy image. Let’s observe some of her most admired hairdos.

Blake Lively Hairstyles

Statuesque bombshell Blake Lively has became one of Young Hollywood’s most buzzed about fashionistas thanks to a starring role on Gossip Girl. Lucky for you, her fashion sense and her hairstyle are fairly easy to mimic. Get Blake Lively’s hairstyle with these tips or try it on in our virtual hairstyle studio.

To get healthy and shiny hair like Blake Lively, try this inexpensive but effective conditioning treatment you can make at home: Mix ¼ cup each of mayo, egg whites and olive oil and apply the concoction to damp hair. The protein and cholesterol will restore shine to lackluster locks if you leave it in for 30 minutes, massage it into the scalp and the ends, and shampoo and condition as usual.

Blake Lively's look is easy to copy if you have long, straight hair. Towel dry your hair and blow dry haphazardly, using your fingers to tousle and scrunch the ends to play up any natural waves you may already possess. Once your hair is dry, wrap 3-inch sections around a large barrel curling iron (in a vertical, not horizontal, motion), to create loose spirals. Use your fingers to undo some of the curls you've created and spritz your hands with medium hold hairspray. Run them through your hair for long-term hold that’s not sticky or stiff.

Blake Lively’s style is boho-chic and she often wears braids that capture this free spirit. Instead of wearing a braid down her back, she opts for a few small braids at the front of her hair. Make this Lively hairstyle your own by finger-combing a styling cream into dry hair. Start your braids by grabbing a 1-centimeter section of hair at the root (in the front where bangs grow). Secure with invisible elastics and repeat three to six times, depending on the number of braids you crave.

Experiment with the thickness and placement of the braids just for fun. If you’re feeling fearless, wrap one braid around the crown of your head like a headband. Create your braid from a 1-inch section of hair that starts just above one ear. Braid it from root to tip, and pull it across the top of your head, tucking and pinning it behind the other ear. Leave the rest down or pull it into a ponytail.

Kate Beckinsale Hairstyles

Kathryn Bailey "Kate" Beckinsale (born 26 July 1973) is an English actress. After some minor television roles and student theatre work, her first widely seen appearance was in Much Ado About Nothing (1993), filmed while she was a student at Oxford University. She then appeared in British film and TV costume dramas such as Prince of Jutland (1994), Cold Comfort Farm (1995), Emma (1996) and The Golden Bowl (2000), in addition to various stage and radio productions. She began to seek film work in the United States in the late 1990s and, after appearing in small-scale dramas The Last Days of Disco (1998) and Brokedown Palace (1999), she had a breakout year in 2001 with starring roles in war epic Pearl Harbor and romantic comedy Serendipity. She built on this success with appearances in The Aviator (2004) and Click (2006).

She garnered a reputation as an action star following an appearance as a vampire in 2003's Underworld and has since starred in Van Helsing (2004), Underworld: Evolution (2006) and Whiteout (2009). She has also continued to work on smaller independent projects such as Snow Angels (2007), Winged Creatures (2008), Nothing But the Truth (for which she earned a Critic's Choice Award nomination in 2008) and Everybody's Fine (2009). She has three films set for release in 2012: the fourth installment of vampire franchise Underworld: Awakening, crime thriller Contraband and sci-fi remake Total Recall.

She has also worked occasionally as a model in television and print campaigns to promote Gap denim, Diet Coke, Absolut Vodka and Lux shampoo. Publications such as Esquire and People Magazine have repeatedly included her in their annual rankings of the world's sexiest and most beautiful women.

She is the only child of actors Richard Beckinsale (1947–1979) and Judy Loe and was raised in London, England. She had an eight-year relationship with Welsh actor Michael Sheen from 1995 until 2003. Their daughter, Lily Mo Sheen, was born in London, England in 1999. She married American film director Len Wiseman in 2004 and they live in Los Angeles, California.

Wavy hair is in style this fall. Soft, gentle waves can be created with the help of a curling iron, hot rollers or even velcro rollers. Wavy hair looks especially awesome when there is highlights and lowlights scattered throughout the hair. The waves just make the flashes of color stand out.

Once you have created your wavy hair style, it is always a great idea to spritz on some sort of shine serum to make the waves extra shiny. Only a little shine serum is needed.

The winning wavy hair style is Kate Beckinsale. Her hair has very gentle waves that feature great use of highlights and lowlights.
